WOMAN FLIES THE ATLANTIC IN LESS THAN 22 HOURS.
Miss Amelia Earhart, of Boston, accompanied by Mr Stultz (pilot), Mr Lincoln Ellsworthy (assistant pilot), and Mr Gordon (mechanic), landed in the sea off Burry Port Carmarthenshire, Wales, after a flight of less than 22 hours duration from Trepassy, Newfoundland. The fliers were making for Southampton in their tri-motored seaplane Friendship, but were obliged to land owing to shortage of petrol.
