The winter sports at National Park every year become more popular and followers of the exhilarating mountain pastime are already making plans for the Ruapehu Ski Club’s sports, which will take place in September (says an exchange). The sports will last 10 days, and the rendezvous will be Whatapapa. “ Is this a common occurrence,” asked the magistrate at the Stratford Court one day last week, when the police were proceeding against three men for gaining entrance to a football match wthout paying at the gate (says the Post). “The catching of them certainly is,” replied a sergeant.
