There is some talk in Wanganui among the farming community of forming a cooperative rural credits association similar to that in operation in Feilding and Hawera (says the Herald). It is understood that the shareholders in these organisations are allowed to borrow up to £lOOO for improvements, etc., to their holdings. There were two opposing camps on the question of daylight saving at a recent meeting of the Christchurch Tomato and Stone Fruit Growers’ Association. At length one member, in a spirit of compromise, suggested that the clock might be advanced for half an hour, instead of an hour, and that it should be kept thus for the whole year!
