AUCKLAND TRANSPORT.
PERSONNEL OF COMMISSION. LOCAL BODIES RAISE OBJECTIONS. AUCKLAND, April 21. Objection to the inclusion of Mr W. G. T. Goodman, manager of the Adelaide tramway system, in the personnel of tho Auckland transport Commission is taken by suburban local bodies In a letter to the Prime Minister reference is made to the fact that Mr A. E. Ford, manager of the Auckland Tramways, was trained under Mr Goodman, and that- when he took over lie stipulated that he should be allowed to bring some Adelaide officials with him. The letter suggests that the Auckland system will virtually be on trial, and as it no doubt conforms to that of Adelaide, the policy of which is probably dictated by Mj Goodman the latter may be called upon to adjudicate on methods advocated by himself. It is suggested that the commission should include someone with personal knowledge and experience of local government conditions in and around Auckland.
