PROTESTANT POLITICAL ASSOCIATION.

A Protestant rally was held in the Art Gallery Hall last week, Mr G. Newton (president) in the chair. There was a fair attendance. After the singing of the National Antelnu, a motion of sympathy with the relatives of Mi' R. F. Bollard in their sad bereavement was moved by tho supervising organiser (Mr F. W. Ashman). The motion was carried in silence, all present standing. The Rev. J. Pringle gave an address on tho value of Protestant principles. Tho Supervising Organiser for the South Island outlined' the campaign for the future. Arrangements for live committees in every district in the South Island were being made so that a chain of information would bo continually circulating between the various districts and the head office The remarks of both speakers were enthusiastically received. Musical items wer< contributed by Mr Simpson, and a recitar tion by Miss Scott.
