DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Friday afternoon. The Stock Exchange has been exceptionally quiet during the past week. There have been only four transactions on ’Change, and the reported sales have numbered only Bank of Australasias are wanted at £l4 12s 6d, but at present none are on offer. Bank of New South Wales are inquired lor at £44 15s, sellers’ quotation leaving * margin of 10s. , • r, , r Business has been reported in Bank ot New Zealands at 58s 6d. The price for a considerable time previously remained at 58s 6d. Other lots are offered at 5Es 6d, buyers quoting at 58s 3d. For Commercial Banks, now ex dividend, buyers will give 27s 6d, but sellers require 28s' 6d. . , , ES and A. Banks are not in demand. Sellers ask £8 2s. . . National Banks arc also without inquiry, sellers quoting £6 16 s. There is a margin of only 3s between the quotations for Unions, which are wanted at £l4 19s. Inquiry for N.Z. Breweries is back to 41s again, although as much as 42s 9d was offered during the week. Sellers require 44s 6d. The Debentures are better, with a buyer at 23s 6d. Staples are wanted at 36s 6d. National Insurances arc better. Buyers ■will now give 775, but there are no sellers below 80s. New Zealands are ex dividend with a buyer at 38s 9d and no sellers. The demand for South British is quieter. Buyers offer 56s 3d compared with 56s Ski last week. Standards are still wanted at 60s. Iluddart Barkers (ordinary issue) are bettor, but there was no reply when a buyer offered 48s to-day. Buyers of P. and O. Deferred Stock are offering £27B—£2 less than last week. Sellers ask £287. ' , Business has been done in estport Corns at 35s fid. The closing quotations were threepence on either side of that price. Goldsbrough, Morts are weaker. Inquiry is made for them ex rights at 44s 6d, and the offer for rights is 8s 9d premium. N.Z. Refrigeratings are unaltered. Dominion Rubbers have advanced in value. Buyers will give 35s 9d, but there are no sellers below 40s. An inquiry for Kauri Timbers at 22s 6d has brought no-response. Buyers of the new issue of Milburn Dime and Cements will give a premium of 3s 2d L«t none arc on offer. National Electrics changed hands early in the week at 13s 3d. They have since been on offer at 13s 9d without inquiry. Old Drugs have been turned over at 64s 6d, and ether lots can be procured at 655.
