TRADE WITH AMERICA.
COMMISSIONER TO DOMINION. WELLINGTON, July 29. The United States Government is extending its trade commissioner service in Australia, and is establishing an office in New Zealand. Mr Julian Foster, who has been stationed in Melbourne and Sydney for a few years, has been appointed to New Zealand. The Trade Commissioner Service is separate from the Consular service. Hitherto commercial matters in New Zealand have been attended to by the officers of the Consular service. Assurances are given that the duties to be undertaken carry with them the responsibility of making, the trade mutually advantageous.
