Conditions for patients at the Waikato Hospital are soon to be made more cheerful by the installation of a moving picture machine, which the Waikato Hospital Patient*’ Sunshine League intends to purchase for £l2O. The machine will be a portable one, and is expected in about a fortnight. It is being specially constructed so that it can be readily moved from ward to ward, and there will also be a movable screen. —ln a Danish isle an artificial lake has been formed specially for the purpose of raising eels.
