IWATE DEPARTS.

JAPANESE RENDER THANKS. AUCKLAND, March 3. The Japanese naval training ship, Iwate, sailed for Suva to-night. A large crowd witnessed her departure, cheers being exchanged. Addressing the crowd on the wharf a Japanese officer said: “We would like to spend as many*days as we *-ave gone miles in your fine city. New Zealand and Japan are like twins in the great waters and we are very pleased with our visit. Many people have been kind to us and we shall never forget.”
