LICENSING COMMITTEES.
ELECTIONS IN DUNEDIN CITY AND SOUTH.
The Prohibitionists and the Moderates have nominated ticket* for the seats on the Dunedin City and Dunedin South Licensing Committees. Nominations for the two districts and also for Port Chalmers closed at noon on Saturday. Five seats were to be filled. The required number of nominations was received for the Pprt Chalmers Committee and no election will be necessary. For the other two committees, both parties nominated five candidates each, and an election will be held on Tuesday, March 9, the qualifications of voters being the same as for parliamentary elections. The following were the nominations received by the returning officer: DUNEDIN CITY. John Carroll. James Sandilands Douglas. Frank Elsworth Hillikor. Vivian Simmonds Jacobs. William King Fred William Knight. David Larnach. James Mitchell. Jonathan Rhodes. Malcolm Stevenson. DUNEDIN SOUTH. James Adam. Allan Angus Campbell. Robert Conn. Thomas Henry Duller.. Robert William Hall. Peter Johnson .Tames John Marlow. Alfred Fleming Quelch. Robert Telfer. William Wright. PORT CHALMERS. Thomas Anderson. Alex. Cable. . Otto Edward Godfrey Loll. Walter Brown Morgan. Thomas Butohert Wilson. PAHIATUA, February 27. An election was not necessary for the Pahiatua Licensing Committee, the old committee —Messrs J. ,Carston. W. Snell (Donnevirke), G. J. Goldfinch (Woodville), A. Ross, being returned unopposed. The only alteration was the replacing of J. H. Fairhurst (Dannevirke) by J. D. C. Crewe (Pahiatua), who was elected president of the committee. WELLINGTON, February 27. No election was necessary for the Wellington Licensing Committee.
