“ We want a Minister of Love as well as a Minister of Lands,” said a bachelor at a banquet to the Prime Minister in the north, in proposing the toast of “ The Ladies.” “The Minister you want is a parson,” promptly retorted the chairman. The jubilee of Palmerston North will fall next winter. It is proposed to celebrate the event next summer by holding a “ Come Back to Palmerston ” week. It is expected that Palmerston will be constituted a city about the same time.
