RAVENSBOURNE REGATTA. WINIFRED WINS OTAGO CHAMPIONSHIP. In spite of the unfavourable weather the Ravensbourno Regatta, held on Saturday afternoon, wa s a great success both from the spectators’ and the racing points of view. Additional interest was provided by the presence of Betty, the Sanders Cup winner, which contested the 14-footer championship of the harbour. The very light wind did not give any of the five competitors a good test, but the conditions suited Winifred Otago’s light-weather crack, to a nicety. Kellett held the leading position within a few minutes after the start of the race, and he increased the lead as the race progressed, and led the fleet over the finishing line by a good margin. The yacht races were started promptly to time, and the fleets made a very imposing spectacle when racing before the light wind with every stitch of canvas set. At one stage over 25 yachts, contesting different races, were in close company near the three legs channel mark. The following are the results: YACHT RACES.
