The going was good. Batouch, who was always handv and won the Hurdles narrowly, was ridden by E. Moon. The favourite, Manfred, was very unruly at the barrier in the St. Leger, and tried to unseat his rider (Toohey) several times, and eventually succeeded just as the barrier was lifted. Belgamba led alt the way and won easily. He is owned by Mr Stuart Brunton, who races The Tyrant and others. The time was 6low.
