In his reserved judgment in the case of Percy Maurice Mills, licensee of the Cafe do Paris, who was charged with employing an unregistered barmaid (who nrodueed the certificate of her sister, the latter being ignorant that the certificate was used), Mr S. E. McCarthy, S.M., warned licensees against employing barmaids without asoortai ning if their certificates were genuine, lie said there appeared to be illicit traffic in barmaids’ certificates. The onus of proving genuineness was on licensees. Mills was fined £2 and costs.
