Live Stock. —During the past week there lias been very little change in the live stock market here, prices for all classes of store stock remaining practically the same as last week’s quotations. Store wethers, al3o breeding ewes, are selling fairly well, but store lambs appear to have dropped about 2s per head. The fat cattle market has improved considerably, fairly keen inquiry coming from the north for extra good bullocks, and any offering meeting with a fairly ready sale. OAMARU MARKETS. (From Our Own Coebespoxrknt.) OAMARU, June 25. The stock market is exceedingly quiet, with no business passing outside of a few descriptions of animals. In slieep, transactions both under the hammer and by private treaty, have been almost confined to fats. At this week’s regular sale fair quality fat wethers sold at from 19s to 20s 6cl, fat ewes at from 15s 6d for best down to 9s Gd for others, prime lambs at from 16s to 20s, and other fat 'antbs down to 12s. By private treaty fat wethers have changed hands at 21s for four-tooth and IBs Sd for two-tooth, and fat ewes at Its 6d. As to other sheep the only business to be recorded is the sale at auction of mixed two ar.d four-tooth half and three-quarterbred owes in lamb at 13s, ana a small line of full-mouthed breeding ewes privately at 12s. There is absolutely no market for store cattle, and the position may be seen from the fact that at the weekly sale two-year-old store steers in good condition, animals that would have brought about £B, were knocked down at £2 10s. Dairy cattle, however, meet with ready sale, and at auction up to £l6 10s was obtained for good quality at profit.
