ASHBURTON, Jim,- 23. Mr S. P. M'C'alluni, a Rhodes scholar, who was born and educated locally, was to-day the recipient of a wallet containing £l5O, towards his expenses to Oxford. The Mayor (Mr It. Ualbraith). at a public ceremony, expressed Ashburton's pride in a worthy son, and its determination to forward annually a donation towards Mr M'C'allnm’s expenses. The latter leaves for Oxford shortly.
