SIR WILLIAM FRASER

(From Otjr Own Correspondent.) CROMWELL, January 20. The banquet and presentation of an address to Sir William Fraser at Cromwell on the evening of February 2 should prove a great success. All the members of Parliament for Otago and Southland have been invited, and, if rumour is correct on this occasion, most of them will be present. The Prime Minister (Mr Massey), who will he in the neighbourhood at about the beginning of February, is a very close friend of Sir William—in fact, both took the oath of allegiance on the same datemay also grace the proceedings. Such a gathering of members should prove a great attraction for the district, and should show the popularity of the late member for Wakatipu, who undoubtedlv deserves all credit for his splendid work during his term of office.
