D.J.C. COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the D.J.C. Committee was held on the 18th inst. ; present—Messrs L. C. Ilazlett (in the chair), E. 11. Lough, W. J. Coughiau, W. H. II Christie, J. Gow, T. Elliott, I’. Miller,- J. Smith, J. W. Thomson, S.S. Myers, ancf Dr Hall. A letter was received from the Canterbury Owners and Breeders’ Association in reference to the railway charges for the conveyance of horses to and from race meetings, and pointing out that the concession of single rates for the double journey had been granted for animals travelling to shows and asking idle club to support the association by placing the matter before the Railway Department with a view to getting the pre-war concession granted for race meetings.—lt was resolved to write to the Minister of Railways asking for the conp cession, and to assist the association to have it granted.
It was decided that the first race at the Oup meeting should start at 0.15 p.m., and the last at 5.30 p.m. It was further resolved that a train service similar to last year’s should be applied for. Messrs Cook, Gardiner, Myers, Smith, and Dr Hall were appointed the Judicial Committee. Three new members were elected. r~==
