THE PRIME MINISTER.
WELLINGTON, January 6. The Prime Minister will go north again towards the end of the month to attend an official reception to the officers and men of the cruiser Chatham, which is due at Auckland about the 23rd or 24th inst. There will be various festivities in connection with the arrival of tho Chatham, including possibly a ball at Government House. While Mr Massey is in the Auckland district he will open a new high school in his own constituency. After that Mr Massey is going by invitation to attend tho Otago A. and P. Show at Dunedin, and on this trip he will spend a few days in Christchurch. lie also purposes visiting the West Coast of tho South Island, but is not certain whether he can fit this visit in on this trip. lie may go to the Samoan and Cook Islands in tho Chatham about tho middle of April. He is particularly anxious to see Samoa, but whether or not he will be able to rr.ake such a visit will depend upon what is doing here at that time.
