THEFTS AT WELLINGTON

WELLINGTON. January 5. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day William Harold Taylor, Roland John Dredge, John Cain, and Robert Ambrose Wilson were charged with the theft of a case of cigarettes, valued at £123 2s 9d, returned on the steamer Pohcruu from the West Coast for delivery to A. S. Paterson and Co. Dredge and Taylor pleaded guilty, and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Cain and Wilson pleaded not guilty, and were committed for trial. Bail was allowed in the sum of £3OO.
