GOVERNMENT GIVES WAY. CHRTSTCHUROH, June 20. The Hon. G. W. Russell ; stated t-o-dav that" the Government had-reviewed the position" in regard to the establishment in Wel-lington-of a fund for French relief, as the original refusal might- be construed as a lack of appreciation of the glorious patriotism and heroism of the French nation.
