Mr Justice Pring, v.-ho has been appointed Acting Chief Justice of New South Wales, in tho absence of Sir William Cullen on leave, has declined to draw more than tho usual salary of £!26CO a year, although he is now entitled to £3500. Mr Justice Pring stated, in accepting tho commission, that he did not wish the additional amount to be paid, in view of tho present condition of public affairs.
