Action has been taken by Mr E. 0. M'Culloujyh, licensee of His Lordship's Hotel, Christchurch, against tho Christchurch Licensed Victuallers' Association and members of the Defenco Committee of tho Licensed Victuallers and Brewers, with Mr E. Nordon. secretary of the association, joined as co-defendants, for alleged stoppage of supplies of local beer, airs, and stout. The writ 3, for £IOOO. wore served on December 22 (says tha Lyttelton Times). The Rev. A. Hodge, of tho Congregational Church, Napier, received on Wednesday, 28th ult. a cheque for £SO from Mrs M. A. Williams, of Wellington, " being a donation to your church funds with my best wishes for the continued success of your ministrations."
