KAITANGATA NOTES.

(Fkom Odr Own Correspondent.) KAITANGATA, September 19. The final Band of Hope rally took place in the Church Hall on Friday night before a large attendance. A splendid programme ■was submitted and was much appreciated. At the meeting a motion was moved bv hie "Worship the Mayor (Mr T. S. Cairns)", seconded by Mr W. Stephenson, and carried: "That the meeting protest against the action of the Government in altering' the hour of closing hotels from six o'clock to eight o'clock alter the expressed desire of the people." An alteration has been effected to Ibe interior of the local Weslcyan Church,

! where a new platform has been erected to J accommodate the choir, and also the removal of the pulpit to a corner of the church, which has added much to the effectiveness of the interior of the church. The Kaitangata Tennis Club opened its season last Wednesday before a large attendance. There is every prospect of a large number of new players this year.
