It is often a very difficult matter to remove stoppers that have become fixed. Cruet stoppers seem almost immovable at times. When this is the case, take a piece of coarse sandpaper and place it over the stopper. Then turn it sharply, and the top will invariably move. Another good plan Is to hold the bottle downwards in a basin of hot water, and the stopper should move quite e-asily if twisted firmly.
