PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.

Tho regular monthly meeting of the Peninsula Road Board was held on the 6t.h inst. 5 present—Messrs J. Fairbairo (chairman), H. Black, T. Landreth, J. A. Johnston, A. Weir, and Edward Aitken. The Chairman welcomed the newly elected members to their seats on the board. Mr James Fairbairn was re-elected chairman, and Mr R. Black treasurer. Mr Jones was present, and asked to hava the ditches cleaned at Tainui.—The matter was allowed to stand over at present. The board decided to invite applications for one surfaceman. The members to retire by ballot in 1917 are Messrs Landreth, Johnston, and Aitken. Mr Weir gave notice to move at next meeting "that the board make a general rate of one penny in the pound for tho ensuing year." Accounts amounting to £5 9s 2d wero passed for payment.
