APPEAL FOR ENLISTMENTS.

MEN URGENTLY REQUIRED. WELLINGTON, March 2. Tho Prime Minister, as chairman of the Recruiting Board, has issued an appeal to men to enlist. He says: "Soldiers are urgently required. Other services are important, but ho service under existing circumstances can take the place of military service. We have reached the stage when nothing matters except winning the great ;war in which we are engaged, and which means everything to us. Every man, physically fit and freo, has a duty which is clear. Let him follow the example of the 50,000 gallant New Zealanders who have already taken up arms, and he will never regret it. The moment hr.a come for thoso to < whom enlistment is not absolutely impossible to choose between duty and honour on one side and the ignoring of both on the other. For Buch men as are patriotic and loyal there is only one course open, and that is to decide on the right and enlist at once."
