FRENCH ZOUAVES AMONGST THE SAND DUNES. It is perhaps because they are used to sand that the French Zouaves are stationed in the environs of Dunkirk for patrol work amongst the sand dunes. They are good soldiers whilst on dtity, but like a bit of fun when relieved from work.
