CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION. AUCKLAND. September Mr Justice Stringer has forwarded the judgment of the Arbitration Court in a claim for compensation _ brought by the widow of one of the victims of the A uita Island disaster on September 9 or 10, 1914. The plaintiff’s husband was employed in quarrying crude sulphur. The judgment concluded as follows; “All that is definitely known _ is that tha deceased and all the other living souls on the island "were engulfed or swept away by some great natural disturbance, but as to when and where, or exactly how the deceased met his death, is not absolutely known. Wo regret that we nro forced ... tn the conclusion tlikt the plaintiff Iras been wholly unablo to satisfy tho onus which rests upon her. and that she cannot succeed in the action.’*
