A Native debtor loaned lazily' against the side of the vdinefs-box in the Otorohanga Court on Monday (says the Auckland Star). “Do you owe this money?’’ asked Mr E. Rawson, S.M. "Ob, yes; I owe the. money ail right.” “Thou why don’t you pay it?” “ Ob.” replied the Maori through his interpreter. “ I've no money. I’in 50 years of age; I’m tired of work.” “ But,” said bis Worship, “ 1 am 50 years of ago also, and I am not tired of work.” Honare’s rejoinder was not audible to the llenob, but it set the interpreter laughing, “ What docs the debtor say?” asked Mr Rawson. “ Oh. but you’ve got a soft job, j our Worship ”
