The Free Press declared that India had earned the concession even more by her conduct in peace time than by her loyalty in war time. The Montreal Star considers that the dominions should taken particular pains to assure the Imperial Government of their great pleasure at India’s representation. Lord Hardinge need not fear that the overseas attitude toward Indian immigration will cause the dominions to hesitate for one moment. LONDON, September 29. Mr Austen Chamberlain, Secretary for India, replying to Mr Rees, said that no decision had yet been come to respecting India’s representation at the Imiierial Conference. The Government could not decide without consulting the dominions.
