He has splendid length, power, pitch, with the best of flat bone. Malstor, his sire, is the leading sire of Australia, with a stud fee of 200 guineas. Satire, his dam, is by the famous Lochiel, a great racehorse, and the sire of great racehorses; whilst Satire is also the dam and granddam of noted winners. Kent-Lock only started four times in his career, and was placed on each occasion in high-class company. _ Beau Soult beat him a head at Rosehill, and Andersino (the crack two-year-old) beat him by a nose at Caulfield in a big field. Mr Gosper, a noted authority, says that Kent-Lock is a magnificent individual, and is certain to be a noted s r re. Kent-Lock was retired from the turf on account of a rick ha received in training.
