MOSGIEL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting of tho Moegiel Borough Council, hold on the 4th, was attended by the Mayor (Mr A. F. Quelch), and Crs M'Lcod. M'Loan, Brown, Muirhead, Davidson, Seaton, and Aitken. Messrs Webb and Allan wrote enclosing a letter from the Minister of Internal Affairs confirming the by-laws of the borough.—Received. Tho Works Committee reported that during the month 40 yards of metal had been spread on Gordon read, and ordinary surface work attended to. Water and sewage works had also received attention, and everything was in good order.—-Adopted. The Finance Committee reported that since last meeting tho receipts had amounted to £215 14s Id. Wages had been paid amounting to £33 18s 3d, and accounts totalling £6B 14s lid were recommended for pavmont.—Approved. Tho Mayor reported that the redemption loan of £4OOO for tho repayment of water and drainage loans had been entirely taken up.—Cr M'Loan added that the loan had realised a small premium.
