PIPER.—On May 10, 1915, died of wounds received in action at the Dardanelles, George, dearly beloved youngest son of Mrs Alice Gillespie (Rotherham) and the late George Piper, and nephew of Mrs Emily Grant, 21 Cutton street, South Dunedin ; aged 20 years. R.I.P. PATERSON.—On May 1, killed in action at the Dardanelles, James Ayton Paterson, dearly beloved cider son of the late James Paterson and of Margaret Ayton Patex - - son, 7 Garfield street, Roslyn. REES. —On May 7, killed in action at the Dardanelles, Sergeantbnglor Sidney Charles, only son of Elizabeth H. and the late Sydney C. Rees, 25 Islington street, NorthEast Valley; aged 19 years. Deeply regretted. Greater love hath no man than to give his life for his country. SALTER—On May 3. 1915, killed in action at the Dardanelles, Joshua James, third son of the late Martin and Catherine Salter, of Port Chalmers. SALTER.—On May 3, 1915, killed in action at the Dardanelles, Joshua James (N.Z. Main Expeditionary Forces), dearly beloved brother of Mrs R. B. Dyer, Glen road, Mornington. Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.”
