MOSSBURN
June 4.—On Friday afternoon, 28th May, the Anglican Church held a sale of work in the dining room of the Public Hall, which was artistically arranged in patriotic colours. The weather was rather wintry, but a largo crowd attended, and, after the Rev. H. Blathwayt, of Lumsden, declared the sale open, brisk business was the order of the afternoon and evening. The following wore the stall-holders and assistants Mesdames I). Jack. E. Baker, Beer, eon., Pickins, Ryan, M'Kay,. Little, Wilson, and M'Donald. and Misses Dyer, Jack (2), M'Kay, Messrs Dyer, E. Beer, H. Beer, and Wilson. A dutch auction was held to dispose of what was left. On oyster supper and dance followed, Mr E- C. Beer acting as M.C., The music was supplied by Messrs Dawson and H. Beer and Mrs H. Boer and Mrs Jack. The proceeds amounted to £45 odd. After £SO for the church, the remainder was to be given to the Hospital Ship Fund.
