A SIGNIFICANT STEP.
AMSTERDAM, June 5
There are great rejoicings at Berlin and Vienna over the capture of Przemysl. It is noteworthy that the fall of the fortress was promptly followed by the strict closing of the Belgian frontier—a step usually presaging a great movement of German troops. Petrograd correspondents point out that Germany hopes to retransfer large forces to Flanders if she is able to push the Russians back sufficiently to render the movement safe.
German airships dropped asphyxiating gas bombs on the Bzura-Rawka frontier.
