OTAGO CENTRAL LICENSING COMMITTEE.
The annual meeting of the Otago Central Licensing Committee was held at Naseby on the Ist inst. The committee consisted of Messrs R. J. Acheson, S.M. (chairman), R. S. F. Inder, J. Mitchell, H. Craig, J. M'Knight, and D. Grant. A lengthy and detailed report upon the various licensed premises in the district had been filed by the district health officer recommending that sanitary improvements be carried out in many cases. The subject matter of the report occupied the committee’s attention for a considerable time; and, in the majority of cases, the recommendations of the district health officer were cither wholly or partially enforced. The following applications were granted: Transfer of -Licenses. —E. Scherp to W, F. D imdas, Railway Hotel, Ida Valley; E. H. Monk to B. Monk, Pass Hotel, Kyeburn Diggings; W. F. Dunne to A. The application by Richard Kelly for a renewal of the license for the Ranfurly Hotel was refused.
