DEPARTURE FOR TRENTHAM OF OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND’S QUOTA OF THE EARL OF LIVERPOOL’S OWN; SCENE AT DUNEDIN RAILWAY STATION ON SATURDAY, MAY 29. The Dunedin, Milton, and Southland sections of Otago’s quota for the new unit of the Dominion’s reinforcements left Dunedin by special train at midday on May 29. They numbered 408, and a contingent of 98 joined at Oamaru, making a total from Otago of 506. The numbers contributed by the four districts were- Dunedin 166, Southland (except Mataura Valley) 155, Milton 87, Oamaru 98.
