AMERICA CUP

NEW YORK, July 9. The Resolute won on time allowance by 79 seconds in the first race with the Vanitie in the America Cup elimination tests. July 11. The Resolute defeated the Vanitie by three miles and the Defiance by three miles and a-half in a 30 miles contest in typical Sandv Hook weather. July 12. The Vanitie defeated the Defiance by a small margin, the Resolute being completely outclassed in an eliminating test during a heavy fog.
