STUD SHEEP SALES.

SYDNEY, July 7. Mr Dowthwaite’s draft of 91 Border Leicester ram lambs averaged £3 11s 2d a head; Mr John Nixon’s draft of ai hoggets averaged £3 16s lOd; and Mr Murdoch’s 14 hoggets averaged £2B 4s. A Boonoke merino ram fetched 777g5, and another 475g5; while five averaged £396 18s. On account of Mr . Herbert Smith (Palmerston North), one Romney Marsh stud ram fetched £5, and ewes averaged £4. On account of Mr H. Saunders (Waimate), four Romney Marsh special stud rams averaged £7 Is 9d. On account of Smith Bros. (Palmerston North), six Romney Marsh stud ewes averaged £5 Is 6d. On account of the estate of the late John Henson (Feilding), 100 Romney Marsh lambs averaged £5 Is lid, while 28 rams averaged £2 5s 9d.

Shakespear (Waiuku), a flock of ram iambs (24) averaged £3 8s 3d. On account of Mr Alfred Kidd (Waiuku), a flock of rams (8) averaged £3 13s. On account of Mr S. Eber ( Waiuku), stud ewe lambs (30) averaged £2 17s 9d. On account of Mr C. T. Barriball (Waiuku), stud ewes (20) aberaged £7 Is 2d.. On account of Mr Alfred Kidd, 11 ewe lambs averaged £3 3s. Border Leicesters.—On account of Mr John Nixon (Canterbury), 40 rams- averaged £5 8s 6d, and 30 ewes averaged £5 12s. On account of Mr Joseph Dowthwaite (Waimate), 163 ram lambs averaged £3 12s sd, and five flock rams £3 13s 6d. On account of Mr Donald Gray (Timaru), 74 ewes averaged £5 7s. English Leicesters. —On account of Mr Grant, 25 lamb rams averaged £3 19s 9d, and 65 ewes averaged £3 4s sd. On account of Mr William Nixon, 36 rams averaged £4 4s. Southdowns. —On account of Mr Robert Brewer (Bracknell), six ram lambs averaged £2 2s. Private Sales.—On account of Mr W. H. Yelland (Dean, Victoria), two Romney Marsh stud rams, at 15gs and 10gs. July 8. The following prices were realised at to-day’s sales of stud sheep :

On account of Mr Dowthwaite, a Border Leicester ram fetched 37 guineas; others 31 to 28 guineas, and 10 averaged £2O 3s 3d; a Border Leicester stud ewe fetched 20 guineas, and five averaged £ls 11s 6d. On account of Mr Ensor (Rangiora), two Gorriedale stud rams fetched 40 guineas each, .and nine averaged £2l 5s lOd. On account of Mr Grant (Timaru), three Romney Marsh stud ewes averaged £lB 18s. Heavy drafts of Lincoln and English Leicester and Border Leicester ewes, and ewe and ram lambs, on behalf of New Zealand breeders, ranged from 2 to 7) guineas. On account of Mr John Stringfellow (Chertsey), one Gorriedale stud ram fetched 20 guineas, two others 17£ guineas each, and 13 averaged £9 7s.

July 9. At the sheep sales to-day the following sales were effected :

Merinos. —Deniliquin stud rams fetched top price, sTsgs; others, 400 gs, 300 gs, 200 gs, and 210 gs. Haddon Rig, a merino stud ram, realised 320 gs; another, 220 g s; Winton (Tasmania) merino stud ram, 350 gs. July 10. At the sales of etud sheep to-day the following prices were realised : Mr Rutherford (of New Zealand) paid 425 guineas for a Canowie merino stud ram. Another fetched 200 guineas. One Deniliquin merino stud ram realised 300 guineas.

A HIGH-PRICED RAM. SYDNEY, July 7. By private sale, one Boonoke ram changed hands at Isoogs.
