Some of the' butchers in Wellington, in consequence of the high price of live stock, have raided the prices of certain lines, in some cases id a lb, and in others Id per lb. The rise, however, is not general among the meat establishments (says the Post). Some of the larger firms strike a level rate for all classes of meat over the whole year, but others, who cut their prices in summer, when meat is cheaper, find it necessary to increase in the winter. Sirloin at present in some establishments is selling at 3d a lb, and chons at 7d.
