SEWARD (Alaska), June 11. Kodiak Island is covered a foot deep with volcanic ash. The people's plight is pitiable. They are without both food and drinking water, •but go far there ai*« no deaths. A wireless message from the revenue cutter at Kodiak Island reports that no Kves were lost as a Tesult of the volcanic eruption. June 15. Terror-stricken. Indians are flocking to the coast from the volcanic regions of Alaska. Reports state that there is a considerable death roll. In some of the villages there are some feet of ashes. The canneries have been compelled to stop as the water is clogged by ashes.
