THE POPE’S ILLNESS
V LONDON, August 9. The Rome correspondent of the Daily Mail reports that the Pope is threatened with angina pectoris. ROME, August 9. The Pope’s gout pain is less severe, and he has taken a little nourishment. Everyone is excluded from his room except the doctors and nurses. August 10. The Pope bad a refreshing sleep, and his temperature is lower. The doctors are contemplating a slight operation to the knee. August 11. The Pope’s knee was punctured by his doctors, and the fluid removed. August 13. The Pope passed a restless night,- and there is renewed pain in the knee.
