HELPING THE POOR

LONDON, June 15. Owing to the generous response of the citizens of Dunedin to the appeal made to them by the editor of the Evening Star 5000 poor East End .children will be entertained during the Coronation festivities. The first 1000 were to-day taken to Epping Forest and given a great picnic. Sir J. G-. Ward sent a message to the committee conveying New Zealand's goodwill, and Mrs and Miss Mary Stuart Seddon were present. Miss Seddon briefly addressed the children.
