LOCAL OPTION POLL

SYDNEY, May 29

The Full Court in its reserved decision in the local option test appeal case finds that the reversed reserved vote of 1910 did not rehabilitate the licenses cancelled by the 1907 vote.

The Full Court reserved its judgment on May 11 in an important case arising out of the late local option poll. At the 1907 election the Leichhardt electors voted reduction. At the last election they voted continuance. The point at issue was whether the last vote nullified the previous one, giving the hotels voted out in 1907 the right to keep open. The case was a tesit one. Altogether 172 hotels were affected, representing property valued at nearly £IOO,OOO.
