WORKERS' HOMES
SYDNEY, May 12. Mr Carmichael told a deputation which was seeking information as to the Government's proposals regarding tlie providing of cheaper homes for workers .that he intended to introduce a bill next session to enable the Government to purchase lands to erect dwellings, which it would sell to anyone who wished to buy them. He was satisfied that the Government could supply purchasers with reasonably good houses for the payment of about 10 J , per week. This must interfere with private Landlords, but it could not be helped.
