AUCKLAND v. ROTORUA. AUCKLAND, June 12. The Northern Union football representative match between the Auckland and the Rotorua League teams resulted in a win for Auckland by 21 points to 18. Abonfi 2000 spectators witnessed a very exciting match. NEW SOUTH WALES v. ENGLAND* WIN FOR THE VISITORS. SYDNEY, June 11. Twenty-five thousand people witnessed the second League match, which re* suited ; England 25 points. New South Wales ... 10 points. SYDNEY, June 12. The visitors for the first time showed something of their true form. The effect of another week’s hard training was seen in their greatly improved condition. In the first half the play was a bit slow, both sides making a strong defence. The chief feature, was Lomas’s splendid kick-; ing. He scored two penalty goals from halfway and a third from the boundary line. The second spell provided a brilliant spectacular game, including soma fine individual play, though the Britishers always had something in hand. Lomas was again prominent, and kicked' a couple more goals and scored two tries, bringing the visitors’ total to 16—all to Lomas’s credit—while New South Wales was nil., The balance of the Britishers’ score was made up of a goal from a free kick and a try by Shugars, Leytham converting* Hickey and Messenger scored for New! South Wales, Messenger con verting both.;
