CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
‘ The monthly meeting of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce was held on Friday, and was attended by Messrs D. M'Therson (chairman), A. S. Paterson, H. Salmon, J. W. Henton, W. Gow, J. Loudon, J. M. Gallaway, Crosby Morris, and G. R. Ritchie. Mr A. S. Paterson reported with reference to the system of collecting grain statistics, recommending that support be given to the Timaru Chamber in pressing for a reversion to the old system. —Mr* Morris suggested that threshing mill-owners be required to supply returns of grain threshed by them.—The Timaru Chamber to be informed that the Dunedin Chamber is willing to join in any reasonable representation to the Government in connection with the matter, the committee considering that the old system was preferable to j that now in operation. | The Napier Chamber wrote enclosing a j copy of a letter to the Minister of Justice I pointing out the disabilities under _ which public companies now laboured in the matter of voting at local elections. —Matter to Ln considered. _ The Him;. Millers’ Association wrote asking assistance in pc ;king an amendment of the water power r gulations as affecting the hydraulic mining industry.—Received.
