BOY SCOUTS.

The Ravensbourne troqp have had their second test examination, a,nd without exception have passed creditably. Several new boys are offering to become Scouts. There will shortly be formed a troop at Momington, when it is expected to place an officer in that district. Ga.versham is shortly to have a new troop of Scouts, when it is hoped to work up a first-class battalion. The Anderson's Bay troop is doing excellent work. On the 28th May the troop mustered at junction of Queens drive, Musselburgh, the object of the parade being - the sending of disnatches through to St. Clair, which meant the evading of several Scouts who were on the road. The Scouts did their work admirably, there being an excellent turnout. It is hoped to put this troop through the Scout's pace for the final in the second-class tests. The Roslvn and Maori Hill troops meli in Washer's rooms on Friday, May 27". Over 54 Souts were on parade beside the Chief Scoutmaster and Scoutmasters. The St. John's Brisrade has kindly sent up the instructors, who are doing excellent work. Farewell has been said to Scout Green, who has left for Sydnev. On Saturday last there was held the final test, the mile Scout's pace, after which several Scouts were sent out to do a good turn, during which the C.S.M. was busy putting up shelves in the hall. The Pioneer troop, under Scoutmaster MacPherson, is making rapid progress, there being 32 Scouts on the last parade, besides the District Commander and an instructor. The Scouts were nut through first aid work, knot-tin a-, signalling, Morse and semaphore sienalinq-, stretcher and physical drill. On Saturday last this troop proceeded to Normanby where scouting work was indulged in and bridges built. On Friday, May 27, the St. Clair Scouts held' their meeting,, under Chief Scoutmaster Williams and Scoutmaster Foote, who was welcomed bv the troop as their S.M. Firt aid, boxino\ knot-tying, and) signalling wer« the work for the evening. On the following dav the Scouts marched' over the hills to the Cliffs, where the pioneer patrol lit a fire and made tea. While the billy was boiling the signalling and ambulance patrols did some good' work.
