FIRES.
NELSON, June 2. Late last night May's butter factory at Richmond vfm gutted by fire. The damage is considerable. Thei insurance on the factory and plant was £6OO in the South British office. MiMay estimates his loss at £2OOO over this sum. OAMARU, June 4. A 13-roomed building at Hampden, occupied by Mr Walter Goodall as a fruit ship, boot shop, and dwelling, was totally destroyed by fire early this morning. The premises next door were also much damaged.
